Updated: Jan 20, 2021

Conclusion:

Mobile phones have brought massive convenience to our lives, however, with the overwhelming information and increasing screen time, sedentary leisure activities are increased, which is considered one of the main reasons for the obesity epidemic. Digital welling will be more and more essential in this era of

technology.

There is also some application designed for helping people navigate their phones better. But Parklife using nature as the solution, go beyond screen provide a nature theory solution rather than using the functional limitations to restrict user behaviour.

Parklife is an application to bring the “relaxing atmosphere” to your phone by using metaphorical frames in the design; it also tries to avoid the red colour and stressful words. Apple’s design guidelines explicitly encourage metaphors. They claimed that related the virtual objects and interactions could help the user handle the app more quickly, for their understanding of the real world is reflected in the virtual design.

This project looks into the triggers of anxiety while browsing on the phone aimed at transferring the offline elements in the parks to the phones to relieve the pressure caused by phone use.

Meanwhile, Parklife extended the solution to the real world, Miyazaki explained the feasibility of reducing stress by walking in the green land(2016). The app motivates users to embrace nature rather than deal with it within the screen rather than find the solution within the bustle and hustle digital network.
